Veterans have made the ultimate sacrifice of fighting and bleeding for this country. However, we often witness these brave men and women return home suffering from mental health issues, substance abuse, or homelessness. Sadly, veterans who are struggling and in need often do not receive the assistance or the care that they need. Assemblyman Wimberly recognizes that the solutions to these challenges may be complex, but does his best to provide proper resources and services to the veterans in his district.

Assemblyman Wimberly believes that all veterans should be treated with the respect and dignity that they deserve, and has supported the following legislation:

A2098 - Establishes "Veterans Affordable Housing Section 8 Voucher Pilot Program."

A2162 - Allows person on police officer or firefighter eligible list who is unable to complete requirements for employment due to certain military service to have name placed on subsequent eligible list.

A2165 - Grants credit against business income taxes to developer of rental housing reserved for occupancy by veterans.

A3786 - Provides gross income tax deduction to certain surviving spouses of veterans.

AR139 - Urges President and Congress to permit military personnel to carry loaded firearms at military facilities.
